Lovia Cowgill, 78, of Litchfield, died on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 14, beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Matt Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.

Mrs. Cowgill was born May 9, 1943, in Litchfield, to Clifton and Lola (Jackson) Dyer. She married Donald L. Cowgill, and he preceded her in death.

She was an amazing cook and previously worked at the Gardens and Ariston Cafe in Litchfield.

Mrs. Cowgill enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley Dyer and Stanley Cowgill, both of Litchfield; daughters, Donna Osborn and Sandra Adams, both of Litchfield; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nellie “Tooter” Crabtree of Cookville, TN, Melvin Dyer of Humbolt, Russell Dyer, Carla Dowdy, both of Hillsboro, Roger Dyer of Kiefer, OK, and Wanda Allen of Warsaw, MO.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cowgill was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Dyer; brothers, Clifford “Tony” Dyer, Stanley Dyer and Terry Dyer; sister, Joanne Hollers; and son-in-law, Craig Adams.
