Louise Florence Ruth, 84, of Vandalia, died on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2:31 p.m. at her residence.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, from 11 a.m. until the time of her service at 1 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, with Scott Davis officiating. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a private burial at a later date at Chapman Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruth was born on Dec. 21, 1940, in White City, the daughter of William and Florence Nockman. She was a homemaker all her life, caring for her children. Her greatest joys were hearing from her family and especially visiting with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Ruth enjoyed working and visiting clients and staff at Fayco and always loved their Thanksgiving and Christmas parties. She loved listening to music and Elvis was her very favorite.
Mrs. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Betty (Wayne) Griep of Sheboygan, WI, and son, Thomas (companion Sean Furlow) Davis of Nokomis; sister, Connie Rowland of Litchfield; grandchildren, Nicole Richmond, Andrea Griep and Adam Griep, all of Litchfield, Benjamin Davis of Nokomis, Scott (Christina) Davis of Oden, Tom Davis Jr. of Springfield and Shyanna Davis of Hillsboro; and great-grandchildren, Nicolai Richmond of Litchfield, Jaxon Bracket of Litchfield, Alexandria Davis and Rena Davis of Oden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Nockman and her brother, Lester Nockman.
