Loretta “Bitty” Olive Farley, 92, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

A graveside committal service will be held Monday, Feb. 21, beginning at 11 a.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Chatham with the Rev. Fred Kraemer, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, officiating. Plummer Funeral Services in Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Farley was born Jan. 20, 1930, on the family farm near Auburn, to Oscar Franklin and Maria Catherina (Eigenmann) Stark. She married Willis Edwin Farley, Jr. on Nov. 29, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2011.

She graduated from Auburn High School and later attended Lincoln Land Community College.

Mrs. Farley was employed for many years in the office of the Bureau of Finance, State of Illinois.

She was a servant to others, providing care to her mother, good friend Wally Sokol and niece Nancy Leonard during their respective illnesses.

Mrs. Farley enjoyed gardening. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and many great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Farley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank Stark, William Stark and Carroll Stark in infancy; and sisters, Myrtle Stark Elder, Rosalee Stark Soloman, Lorena Stark Surgis, Alma Stark, Emily Stark and Lois Stark Leonard.
