Litchfield VFW Cancels Veterans Day Program

The Litchfield VFW Post #3912 has announced they have cancelled plans for the annual Veterans Day program, typically held on Nov. 11.

“It is with deep regret that the Litchfield VFW’s Veterans Day ceremony will not be held this year, due to rising cases of COVID-19,” said Commander Ray Kellenberger.

To honor veterans on this day and every day, the Litchfield VFW continues to work with the Litchfield Museum and Route 66 Welcome Center on a new display called the Veterans Room. They are looking for veterans or family members of veterans to donate pictures, memorabilia or any other items for the display.

“By doing this, we can still honor our veterans,” said Kellenberger. “Because of the COVID-19 issue, we can’t have a ceremony or celebrate this year, but with the help of the museum, we can still honor our veterans. On Veterans Day, we thank our veterans for their service and their sacrifices.”
