Litchfield Airport Will Host Jet Rally, Sept. 10

The Litchfield Airport Authority and Roger Shipley’s Route 66 Jets RC Club are again sponsoring the Remote Control (RC) Jet Rally beginning Friday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 12. The public is invited to attend the event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

There will be approximately 30 contestants and 50 air crafts from all over the United States in attendance, including scale models of military jets and high performance sport jets.

There is a $5 entrance fee for adults. Children ages 15 and under are free. Parking is also free. There are limited bleacher seats available so attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic food will not be available.

Access to the event will be along US Rt. 66 South, the “Mother Road.” Turn west at “Airport Trail,” which is the road immediately south of the airport entrance and look for the signs.

More information about the jet rally may be found online at
