All six players for the Lincolnwood-Morrisonville boys golf team shot 50 or better on Tuesday, Sept. 7, as the Lancers defeated Rochester at Lincoln Greens.
The Lancers would claim six of the top nine individual spots and shot a 174 at the Springfield course to beat the Rockets by 28 strokes. Lanphier also sent one golfer, Lucas Weller, who shot a 50.
As has been the case for much of the year, Nate Brockmeyer was on his game and took medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37. Brockmeyer had three pars on three consecutive holes (10-11-12) as the groups started on the back nine at Lincoln Greens. The Lincolnwood junior also had three pars and two bogeys on the day to beat his closest competition by six strokes.
That competition came from inside the Lancer lineup as Levi Weir shot a 7-over 43 on the day, with four pars and nothing worse than a double bogey. Will Jenkins was right behind him with a four pars and a 44, tying him for fourth overall with Rochester’s Mike Pemborton.
Lincolnwood’s fourth scoring round went to Brady Schmedeke with a 50, but Michael Graham and Colton Tischkau also shot the same score.
The Lancers’ next match will be on Monday, Sept. 13, at Oak Hills Golf Course in Girard, where they will take on North Mac, Auburn and Riverton.
