Leona May Spears, 73 of Litchfield, formerly of Raymond, passed away Aug. 30, 2021 at 7:24 a.m. at her home in Litchfield.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield. Pastor Dave Ziegenbein, minister of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, officiated.  

Burial was at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend. The Litchfield Family Funeral Service assisted the family.

She was born on December 13, 1947 in Litchfield, a daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred (Brittan) Crawford.

Ms. Spears most recently was employed by the Litchfield Community Unit School District as a cafeteria worker after retiring from Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive.

Her strong-willed determination couldn’t be matched by any other. She fought through her physical ailments until the last day, making sure she didn’t miss any family events. She never judged anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed camping, playing cards and doing puzzles. Most importantly, she loved being a grandma and a great-grandma.

She is survived by her daughters,Kelli Tabaka of Litchfield, Crystal (Robert) Knuth of Litchfield,Kimberley Burdell of Mt. Olive, Jamie (Corey) Sorsen of Mt. Olive; grandchildren, Kevin (Hannah) Black, Courtney Tabaka, Justin (Carly) Knuth, Austin and Wyatt Burdell, and MaKenzy and MaKayla Sorsen; great-granddaughter Lucille Tabaka and another great-granddaughter on the way, Oakley Sorsen; siblings Harold, Ronnie, Lester, David, Dale, Quinlin and Ricky Crawford, Dorothy Warren, Alma Knes and Sharon Littrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alvin Crawford.
