Larry M. Jett, 79, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his home.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m., at King Cemetery in rural Irving.
Mr. Jett was born July 14, 1945, in Litchfield, a son of Earl M. and Marian R. (Kennedy) Jett. He and the former Claudette L. Jeffers were married Sept. 2, 1961, and she preceded him in death in 2021. He was employed as a coal miner at Monterey Coal Co. in Carlinville; he retired in 2001.
Mr. Jett was a member of Southside Church in Litchfield, and the United Mine Workers of America. He loved to weld, do woodworking and building projects, and tinker with his tractors and equipment.
Mr. Jett is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Lawrence) Rolland of Litchfield; three brothers, Dale (Martha) Jett of Litchfield, Rocky (Pam) Jett of Hugo, OK, and Brad (Jan) Jett of Hillsboro; two sisters, Karin (Jim) Woodall of Litchfield and Shari (Mark Counts) Birkenkamp of Litchfield; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Rauzi and Randy (fiancee Ashley Meeker) Rolland; nine great-grandchildren, Darlene (Colby) Langen of Norfolk, VA, Alyssa (Andrew) Rauzi of Virden, Braden Rauzi of Gillespie, Bella Rolland, Jaxyn Rolland and Liam Rolland, all of Litchfield, Carmen (Tyler) Rolland, Anthony (Raylee) Rolland, both of Tennessee and Austin Rolland of Litchfield ; and one great-great-grandchild, Braylon Rauzi of Virden.
In addition to his wife, Marian, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Rogers; and a grandchild, Anthony Rolland.
