Larry Lee Jenkins, 79, of Raymond, died December 11, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Raymond. Funeral services will begin immediately after visitation at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family.
Mr. Jenkins was born January 16, 1942 in Divernon, the son of Merton LaRue and Margaret E. (Clardy) Jenkins. He married Betty Gorsage Pope on September 26, 1991 in Raymond.
Mr. Jenkins served in the U.S. Army and later was employed as a truck driver for CISCO Steel in Carlinville where he retired. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Raymond.
He is survived by his wife Betty; daughter Janet S. Jackson of Litchfield; son Rick Jenkins of Mt. Olive; step-daughter Penny (husband Bobby) Grundy of Morrisonville; step-son Allen Pope of Nokomis; step-daughter-in-law Terri Pope of Raymond; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Bernard (wife Margaret) Jenkins of Raymond, and Marvin (wife Nora) Jenkins of Litchfield; sisters Jeanette (husband Paul) Huber of Hillsboro, Lois Jenkins of Springfield, Marie Ginter of Rochester, and Vickie Jenkins of CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sue; and step-son Randy Pope.
