Larry Frank Burnet, age 82, of Waggoner died on Saturday, September 25 at St. Francis Hospital emergency room in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 10-noon at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond with services immediately following at noon with Pastor Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond.

He was born on October 15, 1938 in Waggoner, the son of Frank and Ruby Porter Burnet. He married Linda Boyett on April 4, 1959 in Waggoner.  She survives.

Mr. Burnet was a lifelong member of the Waggoner Christian Church in Waggoner where he served as an elder.

He was a hoisting engineer with Freeman Coal for 42 years. He also helped manage the family farm near Waggoner. He was a “master” mushroom hunter and enjoyed trap shooting, good gospel music, dove hunting and fishing. He was always ready to help someone in need; and most of all, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife ,Linda, of 62 years; his children; son Brad (Elaine) Burnet of Waggoner, daughter Lori (Andrew) Nafziger of Mechanicsburg, IL his grandchildren Lindsay and Jennifer Burnet and Stephanie and Pierce Nafziger.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa, and sister, Ruth Babbe.

Memorials may be left to the Waggoner Christian Church.
