Larry Dean Maroney, 81, of Litchfield, died Saturday, April 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service, located at 700 S. State St. in Litchfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Mr. Maroney was born April 24, 1943, in Taylor Springs, the son of Russell Clement and Linda Roper Maroney. He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1962. He married Sheila Barnes on November 6, 1965, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Litchfield.
Mr. Maroney was employed at Hillsboro Glass for 32 years as a quality control inspector. He loved spending time with his family and loved to joke around. He was an avid storyteller. He spent many hours wood working and doing hobby crafts. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. Mr. Maroney was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved sports. Time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was time well spent to Mr. Maroney.
He is survived by his spouse, Sheila Rose Maroney of Litchfield; daughter, Lisa Marie (Robert) Millerbaugh of New Douglas; grandsons, Brandon Maroney and Matthew Millerbaugh; and great-grandchildren, Bradley, Kanon and Tyson.
Mr. Maroney was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Carol Ash, and Dorothy Matthews; and stepmother, Dorothy Maroney.
