Lancers Face Off With Greenville, Ramsey-Nokomis

The Lincolnwood girls golf team played in Greenville on Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Greenville Country Club.

The Lancers were the only team with enough players to have a team score as Greenville brought three and Ramsey-Nokomis had one, Redskin Coree Keagy.

Keagy finished second in the match with a score of 59, nine strokes behind medalist Rachel Ronat of Greenville.

Lincolnwood’s top four wouldn’t be far behind Keagy as they shot a 252 as a team, with seven strokes separating the top four.

Marisa Webb and Shelby Hattenbach had matching 61s as they led the way for the Lancers. Jhia Walker would be just a stroke away with a 62, while Kaylee Gerlach added a 68.

Anna Jones would be Lincolnwood’s fifth player with a 71, while Jenna Matli added a 79.

Lincolnwood starts the week at Shoal Creek against Carlinville, North Mac and Williamsville, followed by a duel with South County at Terry Park on Aug. 24.

Ramsey at Shelbyville

The Ramsey-Nokomis golf team headed to Eagle Creek Golf Course in Shelbyville on Aug. 18, and split with the host Rams and Clinton.

Ramsey shot a 181 on the day to beat Shelbyville by 26 strokes, but fell to Clinton by 12.

Gunner Finley led Ramsey with a 43, followed by Hadley Seaton with a 44, Ben Hayes with a 45 and Griffin Wright with a 49. Charlie Reiss (50) and Jason Ritter (60) rounded out the lineup for the Rams, who improved to 2-1.

Coree Keagy represented Ramsey-Nokomis on the girls side and shot a 65 on the day.

The Rams will be back in action on Thursday, Aug. 26, against Vandalia and Altamont at the Vandalia Country Club.
