Litchfield racer Rich Komor went big money hunting in Havana on Saturday, Aug. 7, and brought home a beauty.
Racing in the modified class, Komor went nine rounds on the night at Central Illinois Dragway, beating Clay Tyler in the final for a $2,000 payday.
Before Komor’s win, his nephew, Timothy Hearn, did some racing of his own in the junior dragster class. Hearn made it down to six cars before breaking out by just .02 seconds, going 8.88 on an 8.90 dial-in.
Komor will be looking for another big payday Aug. 13-15, at the Muncie Dragway Trip 12s race, which promises $12,000 to the winner on each of the three days of racing.
