It was a little “R-and-R” and a few RPMs for Rich Komor at the start of the 2020 drag racing season as the Litchfield racer made a few passes during his family’s vacation to Mississippi in May.
Racing in the Holly Springs Motorsports Park Memorial Day Mayhem event, Komor made it to the final eight on May 22, then picked up a pair of wins on May 23, before being knocked out.
Komor raced in the pro series in half of the six weekends Coles County Dragway has been open. The veteran racer has picked up ten points from races on May 30, June 14 and June 20, and currently sits 38th in the pro points.
On June 27, he ran at World Wide Technologies Raceway in Madison in the track’s bracket series. Racing in the pro class, Komor finished in the top half of the 24-car field for a solid outing at what used to be Gateway Motorsports Park.
The next bracket series race at World Wide Technology Raceway is on Saturday, July 18.
Komor started the season in Missouri, at Jeffers Motorsports Park in Sikeston. He would start the season with a bang, making it all the way to the championship of the gamblers race and securing the runner-up spot.
