Kathryn (Goff) Romig, 97, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 3:40 p.m. at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab in Carrier Mills.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Breck Nelson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro will officiate.
Mrs. Romig was born June 29, 1927, in Louisville, KY, to Benjamin Shelby and Mary Lissia (Walters) Goff. She married Ralph V. Romig on Nov. 22, 1946, in Saunemin, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1988.
Mrs. Romig graduated from Maroa High School in Maroa in 1945 and was a CNA and the owner and operator of Romig Sign Art. A member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, she lived in Kentucky, Decatur, Bloomington, Peoria and Fairbury before moving to Hillsboro in 1988.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Romig was preceded in death by one grandchild, Benjamin Paul Romig.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee (wife Lisa) Romig of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Crystal (husband Jarred) Moyer of Taylorville and Kevin Lee (wife Lisa) Romig of Decatur; her sister, Carolyn Dunn of Fairbury; one great-grandchild; three stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
