Julia Theresa Lesko, 101, of Nokomis, died at 6:29 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 17, 2022,  at Nokomis Rehab and Health Care.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug.  27, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with Father Michael Meinhart presiding. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Lesko was born Aug. 13, 1921, in LaPorte, IN, to Adam and Frances (Gargula) Sikora. She and John Lesko were married on Nov. 24, 1945, in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lesko worked at JD Variety and answered phones for Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home.  She and her husband loved going places. Mrs. Lesko loved family coming over to visit and had embroidered baby quilts for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Monday Night Raw Wrestling. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs Baseball fan and was so excited to see them win the World Series.

Mrs. Lesko is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Mike) Kricensky of West Chicago, Marian Crow of Nokomis, Gail (Steve) West of Coalton and Shari (Wayne) Laramie of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg in 2012; and a brother in infancy.
