Judith A. (Snell) Miles, 81, of Pittsboro, NC, formerly of Raymond and rural Cypress, died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at 12:30 a.m. at her home.
Visitation will be held at on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Sanders officiating. Interment will be held at West Eden Cemetery in Cypress.
Mrs. Miles was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Cypress, to Delbert P. and Virginia R. (Sanders) Snell. She married Jerry Miles on July 4, 1959, and he preceded her in death.
She graduated from Karnak High School, as well as Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a master’s degree in education.
Mrs. Miles served as an educator in the Panhandle School District #2 in Raymond for 28 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly R. Miles of Whittier, NC; granddaughters, Jennifer L. (Ken) Vandergriff of Cary, NC, and Nichole A. Hampton of Pittsboro, NC; great-grandson, Daniel M. Vandergriff of Cary, NC; and sister, Sue (Snell) Neill of Golconda.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wendi A. Miles; and three brothers, Arnold P. “Buddy” Snell, Delbert R. “Mutt” Snell and Tommy F. Snell.
