Juanita L. Schmedeke-Keiser, 93, of Irving, died on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 5:20 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Bryce, pastor of United Methodist Church in Irving, officiating. Burial will be held at Irving Cemetery.

Mrs. Schmedeke-Keiser was born Dec. 14, 1929, to Alfred A. and Erblean M. (Geminden) Bailey. She married Cecil A. Schmedeke on May 14, 1949, in Irving, and he preceded her in death in March 1976. She later married Alfred Keiser on Aug. 6, 1983, in Irving, and he preceded her in death in July 2014.

She graduated from high school and went on to become a homemaker.

A lifelong resident of Irving, Mrs. Schmedeke-Keiser was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and United Methodist Church in Irving. She loved her pet bird, Peanuts. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, as well as knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her children, Kyle (wife Deneta) Schmedeke and Karis Schmedeke, both of Irving; five grandchildren, Kayden Schmedeke, Kason Schmedeke, Luke Schmedeke, Jacob Schmedeke and Andrew Schmedeke; and great-grandchild, Braiden Schmedeke.

In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Schmedeke-Keiser was preceded in death by her parents; children, Kent Schmedeke and Kurt Schmedeke; grandson, Christopher Schmedeke; and brothers, Richard Bailey and Robert Bailey.
