Joyce Ann Pauley, 85, of Tower Hill, died at 6:18 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Copper Creek Cottage in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m., at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, with Pastor C.J. Dyas officiating. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pauley was born on Jan. 14, 1940, in Shelbyville, a daughter of Wilbur Franklin and Vera Lorena (Tate) Corley. She graduated from Tower Hill High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to attend Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. She began working as a waitress at Guy’s Steakhouse in Shelbyville. She later worked in the office at the oil refinery in Pana, was a secretary for Superior Soil in Tower Hill and office manager at Morrell Auto in Pana. She married Roger Keith Pauley on April 30, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2021.
She devoted her life to helping her husband on the farm and raising their two daughters. While the girls were young, she volunteered at school activities, was a camp counselor at Rehoboth Baptist Camp and served as Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Tower Hill, where she served as church secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Pauley is survived by her daughters, Sheri Trexler of Pana and Sandy (Rick) Calvert of Hillsboro; sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Warren of Wonder Lake; grandchildren, Connor Trexler, Brock (Hannah) Trexler, Jacob (Aly) Trexler, Samantha (Cary) Eisentraut, Lacey (Steven) Osborne, Ian (Paiton) Calvert, Noah (Casey) Calvert, Levi (Haley) Calvert and Faith Calvert; and thirteen grandchildren, Hudson, Banks, Stella, Eva, Penelope, Judah, Theodore, Emerson, Adelyn, Scarlett, Hunter, Roger and Elias.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
