Joyce Ann Brown, 75, of Nokomis, died at 12:03 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shafer Perfetti and Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Brown was born on Dec. 10, 1949, the daughter of Leonard “Dale” Brown and Nellie (Howerton) Gray in Carlinville. She married Robert Dale Brown on April 10, 1983, in Virden and he preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2010.
Mrs. Brown worked as the administrative assistant for Sunrise Manor in Virden for 28 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis and graduated from Nokomis High School in the class of 1967. She loved to play video games on her computer, read, watch professional bull riding and spend time with Randy.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her significant other, Randy Herzog of Nokomis; sons, Donald and Bill Therry, both of Vandalia; grandson, Andrew Grover of Marine; niece, Jean Pryor of Idaho and nephew, Sean Durand of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; foster parents, Paul and Ann Zimmerman; daughter, Stacey Grover; and sisters, Gloria Jean Pasdeck, Rosemary Guild, Edna Marie Gray and Alice Marie Gray.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
