Josephine Irene “Sandy” Pasdeck Sloan, 99, of Nokomis, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the United Pentecostal Church of Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Pasdeck Sloan was born July 2, 1923, in Hillsboro, to Andrew and Melinia (Popovich) Shemeline. She married Rudolph Pasdeck, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She later married William Sloan, and he preceded her in death.

She graduated from Witt High School. During her career, she served as a supervisor for Ronk Electrical for 33 years and also worked at Dairy Queen.

Mrs. Pasdeck Sloan was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Nokomis. She was an avid Cardinal fan, volunteered with the Nokomis Homecoming Queens in 1968 and distributed cadidates’ posters for the Democratic party.

She is survived by her son, David Pasdeck of Coalton; grandchildren, Kola (Hollie) Pasdeck, EliSha Pasdeck and Thadeus (Cara) Pasdeck; and great-grandchildren, Anakin Pasdeck, Archer Pasdeck and Axton Pasdeck.

In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Pasdeck Sloan was preceded in death by her son, John Allen Pasdeck on June 17, 2008; daughters-in-law, Gloria Pasdeck on April 12, 2018, and Yvonne Pasdeck on March 10, 2014; and siblings, Marie Holmes, Helene Shemeline, Steve Shemeline, Andrew Shemeline, Katherine Turnball and JoAnn Zueck.
