Joseph Lee Roti Roti, PhD, 79, of Highland, died on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
A special gathering was held at the Roti Roti Art Center of Buchanan in Buchanan, MI. Interment will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, MI. Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland is assisting the family.
Dr. Roti Roti was born Oct. 12, 1943, in Newport, RI, to Donald and Shirley (Lemmer) Roti Roti. He married Patricia Lee Wilhelm on Dec. 22, 2008, in St. Louis, MO, and she survives.
He was a passionate scientist and researcher. His accomplishments and contributions were vast. He was also an avid lover of nature, a remarkable photographer, competitive war game enthusiast and a “foodie” through and through.
Dr. Roti Roti was kind, generous, quiet, thoughtful, and a beautiful soul whose mark on this world was immense. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepchildren, Meaghan (Chris) Meyer, James (Melissa) Gansmann, Lori (Dave Moreland) Gray and Kelly (Ken Cope) Nessel of Maryville; grandchildren, Lauren (Pedro Salva) Gray, Taylor (Brook Cash) Gray, Sierra Nessel, Matthew Patrick, Caroline Meyer and Joey Gansmann; seven nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; sisters, Anne (Thomas) Saal, Mary (Douglas Rogers) Roti Roti, Donna (Alan) Resetar and Elizabeth (Bill) Hendrick; and brother, Jon (Marjorie) Roti Roti.
Dr. Roti Roti was preceded in death by his parents.
