Mr. Paine was born Jan. 4, 1958, in Taylorville, to Arthur T. “Cotton” and Loraine E. (Williams) Paine. He married Sandy Brun on Sept. 9, 1978, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville, where he and his wife were members, and she survives.

He graduated from Morrisonville High School with the class of 1977. During his career, he worked for New Products, Seidel and Shaw Furniture, and operated Mr. C’s Game Room before gaining employment with the city of Taylorville as lake patrol, where he was currently employed for the past 24 years. He was an avid pool player, playing and organizing various leagues over the years. He loved music, and spent most of his free time in the garage listening to KSHE 95 or watching westerns and reruns of the Andy Griffith Show. Above all, he loved his family and would do anything for them.
