John L. Blake, Jr., 52, of Nokomis, died on Friday, April 3, 2020, at 4:33 a.m. at Pana Community Hospital.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date due to the Coronavirus. Sutton Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.
Mr. Blake was born July 17, 1967, in St. Louis, MO, to John L. and Wilma (Hazeltine) Blake, Sr. He married Elizabeth, and she survives.
During his career, he served as a steel worker by trade.
Mr. Blake was a very caring and giving man, who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a loving neighbor, friend and brother-in-law.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Nick Blake of Highland; daughter, Candis Blake of Gillespie; grandchildren, Grace and Michael Blake; and friends, neighbors and in-laws.
Mr. Blake was preceded in death by his parents.
