John J. Osborn, 90, of Schram City, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Osborn was born July 3, 1934, in Mt. Olive to John and Clara (Davis) Osborn. He married Clow Jo Hankins, and she survives.
Mr. Osborn was a coal miner and farmer, as well as a member of Full Gospel Church. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a lifetime member of the Litchfield V.F.W. Post 3912.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Osborn is survived by his children, Debra Beattie of Springfield, MO, Barbara Angle of Litchfield, John Buck (Rachel) Osborn of Witt, Victoria White of Hillsboro, Brian Osborn of Hillsboro, Elijah Deffenbaugh and Danny (Kim) Osborn of Chatham; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three children, Mary Jo, Timothy and Jeffery; one granddaughter Serena Hutchins; one grandson Dustin Ray Osborn; great-granddaughter KailynTreece; and five brothers Clifford, Harm, David, Dewey and George Osborn.
