John Everett Bauerle, 70, of Witt, died on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at his home.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.
Mr. Bauerle was born April 21, 1952, in Hillsboro, to Harold and Mary (Herpstreith) Bauerle. He married Joyce Cole on Aug. 16, 1996, in Hillsboro, and she survives.
He graduated from Witt High School with the class of 1970. During his career, he worked at Echlin, GSI and Nokomis Gift and Garden Shop.
Mr. Bauerle’s greatest love was time spent watching his grandson’s sporting events. He was an avid deer hunter, participated in Fantasy Baseball, enjoyed time shooting darts in leagues at the Witt Bar, and was a member of the Witt Lions Club. He truly enjoyed time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Valerie (Brett) Bauerle-Wexstten of Nokomis; grandchildren, Carter Wexstten and Colin Wexstten, both of Nokomis; siblings, Barbara Brooks of Oconee, Janet (Steve) Pearce of Dayton, OH, and Patsy (Frank) Beasley of Witt; sister-in-law, Debbie (Richard) Kent of Coffeen; and brother-in-law, Mike (Heidi) Cole of St. Elmo.
Mr. Bauerle was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Shelton; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Brooks.
