Jocelyn Karter Barnett, infant, died on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 7 a.m. at her home.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, beginning at 11 a.m. at Bost Hill Cemetery in Irving with the Rev. Mike Plummer, pastor of Fillmore Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia is assisting the family.
Jocelyn was born April 20, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at HSHS SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, to Brianna Barnett of Vandalia and Devon Mercer of Bingham.
She is survived by her parents; brothers, Brian Scott Holmes of Shelbyville and Karson Layne Barnett of Vandalia; maternal grandparents, Casey Miller of Vandalia and John Barnett of Shelbyville; maternal great-grandparents, Cindy Miller, Don Blanchard, both of Sandoval, and Kathy Schmiz of Granite City; maternal great-great-grandmother, Melba Miller of Fillmore; paternal grandparents, Anita Beck of Bingham and Joe Mercer of Shelbyville; paternal great-grandparents, Vanessa Williams and Bernard Beck, both of Bingham, and Karen Vadmir of Taylorville; and many uncles, cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
Jocelyn was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Harold Barnett; maternal great-great-grandmother, Ada Gipson; and great-great-grandfathers Roy Blanchard and Leonard Miller.
