Joanette Marie “Joanie” Blevins, 66, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at 2:34 p.m. at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at her daughter’s residence, 5217 Old Litchfield Trail, Litchfield, IL. Memorial services will follow, beginning at 4 p.m. at the residence with nephew Gibby Dealey officiating. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Mrs. Blevins was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Springfield, to George and Lois (Thompson) Carnduff. She married Joseph E. Blevins on June 26, 1970, in Litchfield, and he survives.

She attended Litchfield High School. She went on to work at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield for 46 years, where she was a nursing assistant and spent the majority of her time in the Specialty Clinic.

Mrs. Blevins was a member of the Women of The Moose in Litchfield. She was an accomplished bowler, having achieved several trophies, which she was very proud of, and enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Red Skins fan, cheering them on for all to hear. She was known for her love of the Native American Culture.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, Mrs. Blevins is survived by her son, Barry Blevins of Litchfield; daughter, Mieka (David) Kalaher of Litchfield; grandchildren Hannah (Kevin) Black, Savanah (Derek) Stevenson, Mackenzie (Daniel Oakley) Blevins, Victor Kalaher, Maggie Kalaher and Justin Kirkwood; great-grandchildren, Carter, Colby, Paislee, Bella and Maddy; brother, Greg (Diane) Carnduff of Litchfield; sisters, Donna Kent of California, Debbie Welch of Farmersville, Karen (George) Guinn of Walshville, Rhonda (Rick) Besco of Arizona, Valeria (Mark) Watts of St. Charles, MO, Melanie (Jim) Thull of Hettick and Darla (Chuck) Davis of California; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rusty and Lyle Welch; and sister, Gloria Cantrall.

Memorials may be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association or the American Legion Post 436 in Litchfield.
