Morrisonville’s Jhak Walker made his return to the IXCR Cross Country Racing Series on Sunday, Aug. 8, after missing the last four events due to other pursuits.
Walker, who won the Super Mini class at the April 11 race, made the most of his return as he picked up another Super Mini win and the top overall spot in Youth Bikes.
Walker beat out 25 other riders in the Super Mini class, running a time of 59:45, the only rider to complete the seven laps in under one hour. Grayson Fischer was his closest competition as the Verona, KY rider ran a time of 1:03:14 for seven laps.
Joining Walker in the Whiskey River IXCR event in Milton, KY, was Cooper Duff of Donnellson. The young rider competed in the 65cc (7-12) class and took 10th out of 17 riders. Friend and fellow county rider Travis Lentz was supposed to join him, but an off-track accident kept him temporarily on the sidelines as he watched Duff and Walker compete.
Round eight of the 12-round IXCR series will be on Aug. 28-29, at Mission Impossible in Attica, IN
