Jerold Loren Sidwell, 90, of Granite City, formerly of Ohlman, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Stearns Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m., at Sutton Memorial Home in Nokomis. Burial will follow in Kettelkamp Cemetery.
Mr. Sidwell was born on April 6, 1935, in Brownstown, the son of Cecil and Mildred (Beck) Sidwell. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Later in life, he worked at a chemical fertilizer business for 28 years, then became a truck driver for 18 years. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed wearing hats.
He is survived by his wife, Arlen (McCoy) Sidwell of Glen Carbon; his children, Chris (Marla) Sidwell of Irving; Jennifer (Jerry) Leibold of Granite City and Andy Sidwell of Vandalia; grandchildren, Chelsea (Nick) Brawley of Granite City; Jeremiah (Cierra) Leibold of Edwardsville and Alyssa Leibold of Dallas, TX; his great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Brolly, Hannah and Hailey Brawley; and brother, Don (Elvera) Sidwell of Shobonier.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janette Fisher.
