Jauan ‘Jo’ Cornman, 88

Jauan “Jo” Cornman, 88, of Litchfield, died on Friday, January 7, 2022, at her residence.  

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13, beginning at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Jason Plumer officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family. 

Mrs. Cornman was born on Feb. 9, 1933, in Mayfield, KY, a daughter of Voris and Willa (Spain) Whitlow.  She married William Dean Cornman on Nov. 19,1952 in Corinth, MS, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2015. 

A graduate with the Mayfield High School class of 1951, she was employed for several years with the Montgomery County Housing Authority.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield and served as a community volunteer with both the Litchfield Food Pantry and St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary.  Devoted to the love and care of her family, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together. 

She is survived by her son, Glen (Suzie) Cornman of Southlake, TX; her daughter-in-law, Rose Cornman of Cypress; her brother, Bill (Barb) Whitlow of Lone Oak, KY; six grandchildren, Joshua (Michelle) Cornman, Jennifer Cornman, Alisha Cornman, Adriane Baan, Scott (Sophie) Cornman and Jillian (Ben)Wills and 13 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cornman was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Cornman.
