James “Jim” W. Palmer, 87, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
A private memorial service will be held. Hough and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Palmer was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Schram City, to Scott and Rada (Pritchett) Palmer. He married Yvonne M. Palmer in San Francisco, CA, on Sept. 5, 1953, and she survives.
A Hillsboro High School graduate, he was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge, Hillsboro Moose Club and VFW 1306. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He worked in communications, computers and accounting for Pacific Telephone, AT&T and Bell Labs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Scott Palmer of California; and two grandchildren, Tyler Palmer and Nacole Gunsky, both of California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Palmer and one sister, Marcella Palmer.
