Ivan Eugene Reener, 78, of Butler, died on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be held at Sidener Cemetery in St. Elmo at a later date. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mr. Reener was born Feb. 15, 1944, to Roy Orin and Myron Edna (Cloud) Reener. He married Sonna Sue Matthews on Aug. 6, 1965, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1995.
He was a retired teamster from Local #525 and drove a semi-truck for many years.
Mr. Reener was a member of Moose Lodge #1634 in Litchfield. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tending to his roses and dancing.
He is survived by his son, Gene (wife Tracey) Reener of Hillsboro; two stepchildren, Drexel Neisler and Becky Neisler, both of Memphis, TN; grandson, Myron (wife Ricki) Neisler of Springfield; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Neisler, Mia Viele and Vinny Viele, all of Springfield; and a brother, Ronald (wife Lynn) Reener of Litchfield.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Reener was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James “Buddy” Reener and Roy L. Reener; three sisters, Edna Reener, Leeta Crawford and Grace Holden; and special friend, Donna Cunningham.
