Helen Ann (Bateman) Niehaus, 87, of Taylor Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at 10:09 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Cremation rites were accorded. Funeral services will be held at a later date with the Rev. John Jaffry, pastor of Wares Grove Luthern Church in rural Butler, officiating. Burial will be held in Wares Grove Cemetery in rural Butler. COVID-19 CDC guidelines will be followed with the use of masks and social distancing. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mrs. Niehaus was born March 31, 1933, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Roscoe Allen and Martha Emma (Henske) Bateman. She married Ralph E. Niehaus on Aug. 8, 1953, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2014.

A 1951 graduate of Hillsboro High School, she was a farm wife and also worked at the white bank, Montgomery County National Bank in Hillsboro. During her lifetime, she lived in Hillsboro and Butler. She was a member of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in rural Butler and the Ladies Aid at Wares Grove.

She is survived by one child, Brian Niehaus of Hillsboro; two grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Christine Bateman of Peoria. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Allen Bateman.
