Harry Bruce Goodin, 72, of Donnellson, died on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11:40 a.m. at his residence.
Memorials services may be held at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be held at Donnellson Cemetery. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mr. Goodin was born Nov. 11, 1949, in Vandalia, to Harry A. and Patsy A. (Schultz) Goodin. He married Jean Greek on March 23, 1972, in Greenville, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2016.
He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army as active combat in Vietnam. During his career, Mr. Goodin worked at De Moulin Bros. and Co. in Greenville as a pattern designer. Later, he became the computer design department supervisor.
He loved to garden roses and vegetables, read, watch western movies with Jimmie Stewart and John Wayne, old country music, practical jokes and piddling in his garage on small engines. During his lifetime, Mr. Goodin resided in Smithboro, Mulberry Grove and Donnellson.
He is survived by his daughter, Traci Hetzel of Jerseyville; two grandchildren, Gabriella Hetzel and Savannah Hetzel, both of Jerseyville; and siblings, Kathy A. Smith, Patsy J. Barackman, Terri G. Stanton, Sara J. Goodin, Rose Bare and Abby Blackburn.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Goodin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Goodin; and son-in-law, Andrew Hetzel.
