Harold Dwaine Hartman, 83, formerly of Hillsboro, died on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab.
Honoring his wishes, the family will conduct a private service at a later date.
Mr. Hartman was born on Dec. 8, 1936, the son of Thurman and Noia (Brown) Hartman. He grew up in rural Hillsboro, and among his local residences had lived in Raymond and Litchfield before retiring in Florida.
He was a NASCAR lover, drag strip racer, whiskey sipper, and country music loving ladies man, beloved by many.
He is survived by four children, Gary Hartman of Tampa, FL, Cheryl Hartman of Naples, FL, Ginger Janssen of Hillsboro, and Amy Hartman Davis of Troy; three step-children, Ron Rakey of Chicago, Eric Rakey of Litchfield, and Laura Rakey of Brooksville, FL; a sister, Delores (husband Cleveland) Plunkett of Hillsboro; and 10 grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (nee Snarr) Hartman; and a granddaughter, Dana Janssen.
