Grace M. Thull, 77, of Vandalia, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021,at her home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 6 yo 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia with Father Seth Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mother of Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Vandalia. 

Mrs. Thull was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Coffeen, the daughter of Merle and Katie (Jorn) Moore. She married Merrill Vincent Thull on June 17, 1967, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Coffeen, and he survives.

She worked at the Vandalia Correctional Center in numerous positions for 33 years, retiring as an administrative assistant to the warden. She was a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia, past regent of the Catholic Daughters of Amercus, Fayette County Republican Committeeman and the Fayette County Republican Women’s Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Trent (Stacy) Thull of St. Elmo; daughter, Pamela (Kristopher) Smith of Springfield; grandchildren, Jessica Pulley, Jayla and Trenden Thull and Kaden Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to Mother of Dolors Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
