Glenn E. Karrick, 93, of Litchfield, died at 8:47 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at his residence.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield with Pastors Darrell Molen and Roy Eller co-officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery near Atwater.

Mr. Karrick was born on Oct. 31, 1927, near Barnett in Montgomery County, a son of the late Robert T. “Bob”  and Bertha M. (Friend) Karrick.He worked for the Roy Boehler farm and farmed in both the Macoupin and Montgomery county areas. He became an auctioneer in February 1962 and sold at Pana Sale Barn for 25 years. He was also an independent real estate salesman from 1980 to 2005.

Mr. Karrick was a member of Illinois State Auctioneer Association, the Macoupin County Farm Bureau, and New Hope Baptist Church.

He married the former Ivarene M. Jenkins on Jan. 1, 1952, in Girard, and she survives in Litchfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter,  Patsy (husband Kenny) Littrell of Litchfield; grandchildren,  Randy Littrell of Raymond, Gina (husband Terry) Riedel of Walker, KS, Gayla (husband Rye) Hart of La Sal, UT, Renae Patton of Grand Junction, CO, and Sara Littrell (companion Jory Whittington) of Kingman, IN, 12 great-grandchildren, Jacy (husband Trent) Klaus, Casey Littrell, Parker (companion Piper Guy), Layton, Kinsey, and Jarrett Riedel, Austin, Shaelyn, and Rance Hart, Trenton Boaden (companion Rowdee Sanders) and Jordan Ramey; and two great-great-grandchildren, Annee Jo and Ace Boaden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, George, and Carl Karrick; three sisters, Irene Hantla, Frances Hammond and Dorothy Fenton; five nephews and four nieces.
