Genevieve C. Shuey, 96, of Gillespie, died at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at Heritage Health of Gillespie.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Funeral services will begin at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Shuey was born on April 2, 1925, in Gillespie, to Joseph Dunn and Elizabeth Ross Dunn. She married Donald R. Shuey on Jan. 15, 1949, in Gillespie, he preceded her in death on July 17, 2004. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Shuey is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Gerald) Brand of Litchfield; sons, Donald W. (Debbie) Shuey of Mt. Olive and Randall J. (Terry) Shuey of Springfield; grandchildren, David (Tylena) Brand of Decatur and Sunni Shuey of Benld; and great-grandchildren,Gavin Brand, Kambrea Brand, Jase Brand, Lila Shuey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Heidi Brand; brothers, Joseph Dunn, Walter Dunn and Ross Dunn; and sisters, Betty Bray and Marge Grandone.
