Registration for those age 18 and older is open for a free Moderna vaccination clinic hosted by the Montgomery County Health Department on Saturday, April 17, at the Skyview Drive-In in Litchfield.

Vaccinations will be administered in the vehicle, and the health department has 400 doses available. Those who would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and need help with online registration should call the health department at 217-532-2001 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
According to Montgomery County Health Department Administrator Hugh Satterlee, as of Tuesday, 19.08 percent of Montgomery County residents are fully vaccinated–about 5,500 people. Two-thirds of those are over age 65. The health department has administered 13,575 vaccines including two to those who are fully vaccinated and the rest to those waiting for their second shot.
So far this week, the health department has reported 12 new cases–three on Sunday, five on Monday and four on Tuesday–and the county’s 72nd death from the virus.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from April 7-13 is 4.2 percent.
