Frank E. McLaughlin, 84, of Nokomis, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at 4:35 a.m. in Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

No public services will be held, and his remains will be returned to Canada at a later date. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Hom in Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mr. McLaughlin was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Sarina, Ontario, Canada, the son of Herbert Earl and Mary Catherine (Japp) McLaughlin. He married Connie Bradley on Dec. 18, 1971, and she survives.

He attended school for eight years. A Canadian Merchant Marine, he was a long-haul truck driver, heavy equipment operator, and worked on pipelines all over the world. He retired from Nokomis Rock Quarry.  He belonged to Nokomis Masonic Lodge #456 and Ansar Shrine.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by a brother, Fred (Carol) McLaughlin of Courtright, Ontario, Canada; nieces and nephews, Alan, Kevin and Jason McLaughlin, Maitland Noyle and Ed Bradford; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica, Matthew, Martin, Jordan, Sidney and Kaitland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Noyle, and nephew, Dale Bradford.
