Floyd Perkins, 75, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 6:21 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with son-in-law, Pastor Sean Reece of Heartcry Missions in Christiansburg, VA, officiating. Burial will be held at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mr. Perkins was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Neelyville, MO, to Chester and Edna (Brooks) Perkins. He married Donna Jean Sharp on Dec. 4, 1987, in Hillsboro, and she survives.

He attended Poplar Bluff schools in Missouri and served as a laborer with Litchfield Local Labor Hall.

Mr. Perkins was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #51 in Hillsboro, as well as a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield. He was an avid fisherman, focusing mainly on bass fishing. He loved his family and always put them first.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Floyd “Bub” (Christine) Perkins of Litchfield and Heath (Bo) Perkins of Springfield; two daughters, Joyce (Sean) Reece of Pilot, VA, and Kelli Slater of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Dressen; three brothers, Lloyd Perkins, James Perkins and Ed Perkins; sister, Christine Perkins, as well as twin sisters in infancy.

Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, MO, and Paws Care of Montgomery County.
