Florence Dorthy (Leidner) Dierkes, 83, of Hillsboro, died at 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Willie’s Place in Greenville. Food will be served. Cremation rites were accorded. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ms. Dierkes was born on June 17, 1939 in Grantfork, to the late John P. Leidner and Viola (Wirtz) Leidner. She married Henry A. Dierkes on Sept. 5, 1959, in Greenville, and he preceded her in 1989. She had worked at Artex for ten years until her retirement. She had lived in Greenville, and spent her senior years living in Hillsboro.
Ms. Dierkes is survived by her children, Dotti Hamby of Hillsboro and Dennis (wife, Debra) Dierkes of Collinsville; four grandchildren, Steven Hess, Amanda Voyles, Daniel Dierkes and Stephanie Dierkes; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Geraldine (husband, Clark) Gable of Highland, Johnny (wife, Mary) Leidner of Florida and Helen Reter of Brownstown.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Hurst.
