Eva Le Etta Winters, 80, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, beginning at 1 p.m. at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield with the Rev. Jason Plumer of First Baptist Church in Litchfield officiating. A funeral procession will line up at 12:45 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home to proceed to the cemetery.

Mrs. Winters was born on June 9, 1941, in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, to Archibald and Verna (Ferris) Bell. She married James B. Winters on June 2, 1984, in Freeburg, and he survives.

She graduated from Freeburg High School with the class of 1959 and later graduated from Barnes Hospital School of  Nursing.

During her career, Mrs. Winters served as a registered nurse at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield for approximately 20 years.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield, where she participated in many activities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, especially to see family, and listening to old gospel music.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Winters is survived by her stepson, James T. (Melanie) Winters of Springfield; daughters, Caroline Darlene (Fred) Hester and Elizabeth Elaine (Allan) Templeton, both of Gadsen, AL; five grandchildren, Crystal Winters, Nicole Winters, Rosanna Davis, Josh Hester and Isaiah Strickland; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gordon Bell; sister, Jaqueline Betian; and stepson, Ricky Wayne Winters.
