Eugene Joseph “Gene” Rapien, 66, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, at his home.

Private family services will be held. Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs, OK, is assisting the family.

Mr. Rapien was born Feb. 10, 1954, in Highland, the son of Eugene and Barbara (York) Rapien. He was then adopted by William Raymond and Margie Ann (Saunder) Rapien. 

He attended school in Edwardsville and Troy, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. In 1981, he was introduced to the love of his life, Scarolette Reheard. They were married a week later on July 1, 1981.

He worked most of his life in the oil fields. He will be remembered for his mellow personality, and his love of talking on the CB and ham radio. He enjoyed fishing and guns. His family knew they were the most important thing in his life, and he would do what he could to protect them.

Mr. Rapien is survived by his children, Autumn Graham of Tulsa, OK, Eugene Joseph “E.J.” (wife Samanther) Rapien of Prue, OK, William “Robbie” (wife Kassidy) Rapien of Cleveland, OK, Stephanie Rapien (husband Mike)  of Sand Springs, OK, and Christina Lynn Crain of Grove; former wife and best friend, Scarolette Rapien of Sand Springs, OK; full sibling, William “Bill” (wife Elba) Rapien of Puerto Rico; stepmother, Gerri Rapien of Sorento; half-siblings, Tony (wife Patty) Rapien of Sorento, Joey Rapien of New Douglas, Nancy (husband Donald) Hill of Nokomis and Felicia (husband Matthew) Blanton of Coffeen; and grandchildren, Shawn, Jasmine, Vernon, Angelina, Danielle, Wyatt, Weston, ShyAnn, Darrin, Damion and Rebecca.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents and adoptive parents.
