Ellen Irene Paitz, 80, died at 9:37 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Addington Place of Edwardsville.
Becker and Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Paitz was born on Feb. 6, 1943, in Litchfield, the daughter of Harold Edmond Eames and Minnie Martha Whitehouse. She married Jacob Paitz on Aug. 28, 1965, in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2013.
Mrs. Paitz attended Zion Lutheran Grade School and Staunton High School. She attended Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique in St. Louis, MO, and after graduation worked as a medical lab technician. Mrs. Paitz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton.
Mrs. Paitz is survived by her sons, Jacob Brian (Lauri) Paitz of Maryville, and Roy Jeffrey (Tracy) Paitz of St. Charles, MO; a brother, Roy (Kathy) Eames of Osage Beach, MO; four granddaughters, Kylee (Keith) Vierling of St. Charles, MO, Stephanie (Christian) Bosaw of St. Jacob, Sarah (Fiance David) Paitz of Maryville and Audrey Paitz of Seattle, WA; two grandsons, Daniel and Timothy Paitz of Troy; and a great-grandson, Graham Vierling of St. Charles, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and huband.
