Edward W. Heath, 59, of Maryville, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Irwin Chapel Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, 591 Glen Crossing Road. A memorial gathering will follow, beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Autenreith officiating.

Mr. Heath was born May 17, 1962, in DeKalb, to Gerald and Shirley (Kohler) Heath. He married Donna Hollingsead, and she survives.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1980 and attended Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, IN.

During his career, Mr. Heath served as a journeyman mechanic at Jim Butler Chevrolet. He was a proud member of the International Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local 777 and retired as a union shop steward.

He was a volunteer fireman and EMT for 20 years on the Maryville Fire Department, retiring as captain. He was also a member of the Maryville Gun Club, Boone and Crockett Club and the Pope and Young Club (2021).

In his free time, Mr. Heath pursued many outdoor activities such as trapshooting, hunting, camping with his family, motocross, football, archery, cycling and hiking. He was an outstanding golfer and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all, he loved his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Chase (Julie McClure) Vannier of Springfield, Shannon Vannier of Portland, OR, and Ashton (Erik) Woll of Milwaukee, WI; grandson, Kiernan Woll; his proud parents of Irving; sister, Vicky (Webb) Fuller of Coffeen; nephews, Rhys (Tyka) Fuller of Coffeen and Ryne (Hillary Pearson) Fuller of Philadelphia, PA; niece, Katy Fuller of Coffeen; and many other close family members and friends.
