Edna F. Redfern, 100


Edna Fern Redfern, 100, of Litchfield, formerly of Raymond, died at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend, with  Rev. David Ziegenbein of Pleasant Hill Christian Church officiating. Masks are required for those attending the services. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Redfern was born on Feb. 1, 1921, in Deepwater, MO, a daughter of John and Retia (Davis) Landes.  She married Myron Nathan “Barney” Redfern on March 17, 1940, he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2003. Mrs. Redfern graduated from Scottville High School. She worked at the U.S. Postal Service in Raymond as a postal clerk for 20 years.

In her early years, Mrs. Redfern was a clerk at P.N. Hirsh Co., in downtown Litchfield. She was also a farm wife, often helping her husband farm near Zanesville Township. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Raymond, Zanesville Women’s Club, Raymond Card Club and was a 4-H leader.

Mrs. Redfern is survived by her son,  Randall Kent (Sharon) Redfern of Litchfield; daughter, Kendra Jill Jones of Colfax; son-in-law, L. Samuel Cagle of Lacey, WA; seven grandchildren, Katelyn (Carl) Hamlow, Marissa Jones (fiancé, Trevor Sosamon), Adam Jones (significant other, Rachel Lobianco), Kurt (Anne) Cagle, Daren (Laura) Cagle, Eric (Lisa) Cagle and Troy (Mary Jo) Redfern, six great-grandchildren, Cooper, Cambree, Kabe Hamlow, Samuel Cagle and Jamie and Percy Cagle; and nieces and nephews, Jay (Laura) Adams, Martin (Donna) Landes and Anne (Ed) Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;  daughter, Sandra Sue (Redfern) Cagle; twin brother, John Landes, Jr.; sister, Verna June Adams; and one niece, Nancy Adams.
