May and June were busy months for the Duff Boys Racing team as the family traversed the area with seven events in the two months.
The run started with the Tri City Motorcycle Club Grand Prix, held in Coal Valley on May 2. Cooper Duff would take first in his division, while older brother Zach was second in his group. The patriarch of the Duff family, Ryan, also took first in the District 17 GP at Coal Valley.
On May 15, the Duffs were in Waterloo, IA, for Urbancross. Cooper again finished atop his division, taking first in the 65cc class, while Zach and Ryan were second in their respective classes. The younger boys also raced in the 250cc class, with Zach taking 21st and Cooper placing 25th out of 39 riders.
Two days of racing was planned on May 22-23 as the Duffs competed in the Fox Valley Off Road Series in Wedron, with a gran prix on May 22, followed by hare scrambles on May 23.
Again the team didn’t finish lower than second all weekend, with Cooper taking two firsts in the 65cc class and Zach and Ryan both taking second in the gran prix in the 85cc Super Mini and 40+ A classes respectively.
On June 19-20, the family returned to Wedron, after Cooper ran solo at Oakford, placing second, and White City, taking first. Cooper picked up two more wins with the 65cc sweep of the gran prix and hare scramble, while Zach was 18th out of 31 riders in the C class and Ryan was second in 40+ A.
The Duffs closed out June with a short trip to the Montgomery County Fair motocross. Both boys would take first, Cooper in the 65cc and Zach in the 85cc classes, while Ryan was fourth in the dad class.
