Dorothy June Eckhoff, 96, of Belleville, died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at her residence.
Private family services will be held at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. Matt Ferguson, Pastor of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at Ware’s Grove Cemetery in Butler. COVID-19 CDC guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing will be followed. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Eckhoff was born on May 13, 1924, in Hillsboro, to Louis John and Delores Caroline (Harkey) Betoche. She married John Henry Eckhoff, and he preceded in death.
Mrs. Eckhoff was secretary for the Federal Probation Office in East St. Louis, before her retirement.
Mrs. Eckhoff is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann (Bill) Griffith and Melinda Jane (John) Wilt; one son, John David Eckhoff; four grandchildren, Janice, Jason, Sara and Jonathan; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Jane (Paul) Westbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Don Betoche; and one sister, Rose Marie Norber.
